Frontier labs are reportedly shipping higher cyber-capability models with gated access, eval harnesses, and use-policy friction. Orientation for builders: capability is rising, but distribution is intentionally constrained — verify release notes and terms before assuming availability.

Switch or not?
No consumer switch required for normal coding — gated cyber SKUs are not a reason to abandon your daily IDE stack.
Money / risk
Compliance / ToS risk > sticker price. Enterprise buyers should treat gated cyber models as policy + audit cost, not just API cost.
